Let \(H\) be a Hilbert space, \(T\) a paracompact topological space; let \(C(T,H)\) denote the space of continuous bounded functions from \(T\) to \(H\) endowed with the sup-norm. The main result in the present article is the following: For a lower semicontinuous multimap \(F \colon T \to 2^H\) with nonempty convex closed values such that the set of its continuous bounded selections \(S_F \subset C(T,H)\) is nonempty, the following conditions are equivalent: \begin{itemize} \item[(1)] there exists a nonexpansive selection of the metric projection onto \(S_F\); \item[(2)] for any function \(f \in C(T,H)\) the map \(t \rightarrowtail proj_{F(t)}(f(t))\) is continuous; \item[(3)] for any \(x \in H\) the map \(t \rightarrowtail proj_{F(t)}(x)\) is continuous. \end{itemize}
