The authors study the distance function, given by the Minkowski gauge function of a convex body, from a point, to sets which are either strictly, strongly, or weakly convex, in a Hilbert space. Certain properties of the gauge function of a strongly convex set are proved. A frame work for obtaining a strict, strong, or weak convexity of Lebesgue sets for the distance function is presented. Inequalities that exhibit the behavior of the distance function on segments are proved. These inequalities enable presenting comparisons with strictly, strongly, or weakly convex functions.
