In the paper under review, the authors consider some sufficient conditions for a nonlinear \(*\)-Lie derivation to be standard. More precisely, let \(U\) be a \(2\)-torsion free unital \(*\)-algebra with a nontrivial self-adjoint idempotent \(e_1\) and \(e_2=1-e_1\) satisfying \[e_1xe_1Ue_2=\{0\}=e_2Ue_1xe_1 \text{ implies } e_1xe_1=0\] \[e_1Ue_2xe_2=\{0\}=e_2xe_2Ue_1 \text{ implies } e_2xe_2=0.\] Let \(U_{11}=e_1Ue_1\), \(U_{12}=e_1Ue_2\), \(U_{21}=e_2Ue_1\) and \(U_{22}=e_2Ue_2\) be such that the following statements hold: \begin{enumerate} \item for any \(i\in \{1,2\}\), \(Z(U_{ii})=Z(U_{ii})e_i\), where \(Z(U_{ii})\) denotes the center of \(U_{ii}\); \item for each \(u_{21}\in U_{21}\), the condition \(u_{21}U_{12}=0\) or \(U_{12}u_{21}=0\) implies \(u_{21}=0\); \item for each \(u_{12}\in U_{12}\), the condition \(u_{12}U_{21}=0\) or \(U_{21}u_{12}=0\) implies \(u_{12}=0\). \end{enumerate} Then every nonlinear \(*\)-Lie derivation \(L:U\mapsto U\) is of standard form, that is \(L=d+\tau\), where \(d:U\mapsto U\) is an additive \(*\)-derivation and \(\tau\) is a mapping from \(U\) into its center \(Z(U)\) vanishing on commutators.
