Let \(X\) be a complex Banach space and let \(\mathcal{B}(X)\) denote the space of all bounded linear operators on \(X\). \(T \in\mathcal{B}(X)\) is said to be Drazin invertible if there exists a nonnegative integer \(k\) and an operator \(C \in\mathcal{B}(X)\) such that \(TC=CT,~CTC=C\) and \(T^{k+1}C=T^k\). The smallest such \(k\) is called the index of \(T\). This notion has been generalized to linear relations on \(X\). There is also an extension of the Drazin inverse notion, called generalized Drazin invertibility. Here, the authors define and study the generalized Drazin invertibility of bounded and closed linear relations on Banach spaces. Necessary and sufficient conditions under which a linear relation is generalized Drazin invertible, are presented.
