In [\textit{H. Chen} and \textit{C. Xi}, Isr. J. Math. 215, No. 1, 349--395 (2016; Zbl 1387.16011)], the following conjecture was posed: Conjecture. Let \(A\) be a finite dimensional algebra with finite dominant dimension \(n\ge 1\). Let \(0\to A\to I_0\to I_1\to \cdots\) be a minimal injective resolution of \(A\). Then \(B:= \mathrm{End}_A(I_0 \oplus \Omega^{-n}(A))\) has dominant dimension \(n\). In the paper under review, the author shows that the conjecture above is false by giving for every \(n\ge 1\) an example of an algebra \(A\) with dominant dimension \(n\) such that \(B\) has dominant dimension strictly smaller than \(n\). Moreover, the author proves that the conjecture holds true for a large class of algebras containing higher Auslander algebras introduced by \textit{O. Iyama} [Adv. Math. 210, No. 1, 51--82 (2007; Zbl 1115.16006)].
