The author presents two large deviations approaches involving Birkhoff's sums: one deals with the two-sided Hölder approximation of continuous functions, and the other one uses transference from estimates of the correlations to the large deviations. (The proofs are probably forthcoming). An application to chaotic billiards completes the paper.
