This article is concerned with nonnegative solutions of the two-component elliptic Gross-Pitaevskii system \[ \begin{cases} \epsilon_1\Delta u_1=u_1(u_1^2+\lambda u_2^2-1)\\ \epsilon_2\Delta u_2=u_2(u_2^2+\lambda u_1^2-1) \end{cases}\quad\mbox{ in }\mathbb{R}^n, \] where \(\lambda\in (1, \infty)\) and \(\epsilon_1,\epsilon_2\in (0, \infty)\). Through a geometric Poincaré inequality it is obtained that any solution \((u_1, u_2)\) satisfies \[ \nabla u_1\cdot \nabla u_2=-|\nabla u_1| |\nabla u_2|. \] Further symmetry (if \(\epsilon_1=\epsilon_2\)) and asymmetry (if \(\epsilon_1\neq \epsilon_2\)) of solutions are discussed.
