    The authors deal with the second-order non-autonomous system \[ \frac{d^2}{dt^2}u(t) + q(t) \frac{d}{dt}u(t) - L(t)u(t) + \nabla W(t,u(t)) = 0\;\;\forall t\in \mathbb R\eqno{(P)} \] where \(q\in C(\mathbb R, \mathbb R)\) is such that \(\|q\|_\infty\) and \[ Q(t) = \int_{0}^{t}q(s)\,ds \to +\infty\;\;\text{as } |t|\to \infty. \] \(L\in C(\mathbb R, \mathbb R^{N^2})\) is a symmetric matrix-valued function such that: There exists a constant \(r_0>0\) such that \[ \lim_{|s|\to \infty}\mathrm{meas}_Q\left(\{t\in (s-r_0, s+r_0): L(t) < bI_N\} \right)=0,\;\;\forall b>0 \] where \[ \mathrm{meas}_Q(A) = \int_{A}e^{Q(t)}dt. \]\, \(W\in C(\mathbb R\times \mathbb R^N,\mathbb R)\) satisfies some general super-quadratic growth conditions at infinity. By using the symmetric version of the mountain pass theorem, the author proves the existence of infinitely many fast homoclinic solutions for \((P)\).
