Dynamics of closed singularities (Q2213339)

This article is concerned with the geometric parabolic flows. The authors' approach relies on the study of dynamical properties of the flow which also yields the smoothing for the generic initial conditions. A one parameter family \(\{M_t\}\) is is said to be a shrinker if \(M_t=\sqrt{-t} M_{-1}\). The authors analyze the behavior of the rescaled flow in a neighborhood of a closed unstable shrinker. It is obtained that nearly all hypersurfaces in a neighborhood of the unstable shrinkers leaves the neighborhood, even after accounting for translations and dilations.
