The paper deals with a fractional oscillation equation with a pure delay. The authors consider a fractional-order delayed oscillation equation with constant coefficients and establish the exact analytical representation of solutions in terms of a delayed analogue of Mittag-Leffler-type scalar-valued functions. The attained results coincides with the classical results whenever \(\alpha=2\). Moreover, the authors propose Hyers-Ulam stability results of a fractional oscillation equation with a single delay via Laplace integral transform.
