Let \(K\) be a non-archimedean local field. Let \(\textbf{G}\) be isogenous to a classical group over \(K\) which splits over an unramified extension. The inner form of \(\textbf{G}\) is denoted \(\textbf{G}^u\), while \(G^{F_u}\) denotes the group of \(K\)-rational points of \(\textbf{G}^u\). In this paper, for a unipotent supercuspidal representation \(\pi\) of \(G^{F_u}\), the authors show the uniqueness of the unramified local Langlands parameter \(\varphi_{\pi}\) which satisfies the equation \[ \mathrm{fdeg}(\pi,q)=C_{\pi}\gamma(\varphi_{\pi},q). \tag{1} \] Here \(C_{\pi}\) is a non-zero rational constant and (1) is the equality of rational functions in \(q\). On the left hand side, we have the \textit{formal degree} attached to the representation \(\pi\), while on the right hand side we have the adjoint \textit{gamma factor} of \(\varphi_{\pi}\). These rational functions serve, in case of group \(G^{F_u}\) and its discrete series representations, as a substitute for \(L\)-functions and \(\epsilon\)-factors, which uniquely characterize the local Langlands correspondence for the general linear group. The main result can be amplified to show the uniqueness of an assignment \(\pi\mapsto \varphi_{\pi}\) for tempered unipotent representations, which is in compliance with the two conjectures on the Plancherel measure in terms of local Langlands parameters. The proof consists of two parts. Firstly, the authors observed that the notion of an unramified discrete local Langlands parameter \(\varphi\) \textit{of even degree} significantly reduces the collection of parameters \(\varphi_{\pi}\) which may possibly satisfy (1). The other part of the proof is direct comparison of \(\mathrm{fdeg}(\pi,q)\) and \(\gamma(\varphi,q)\), where \(\varphi\) runs through the list of eligible parameters. In technically more complicated cases, authors use the \textit{Spectral Transfer Morphisms} (STMs) to transfer the problem to the simpler case.
