Consider the exceptional commutative alternative algebra \(S[X]\) (the monster), introduced in [\textit{S. V. Pchelintsev}, Algebra Logic 24, No. 6, 441--454 (1985; Zbl 0603.17014); translation from Algebra Logika 24, No. 6, 674--695 (1985)], and the Skosyrskii algebra \(Sk(X)\), introduced in [\textit{V. G. Skosyrskii}, Algebra Logic 33, No. 3, 169--179 (1994; Zbl 0826.17037); translation from Algebra Logika 33, No. 3, 301--316 (1994)]. Both algebras are well-known to satisfy three identities: the commutativity identity, the right alternativity identity, and the identity of nil-index 3, all denoted as \(\Sigma:=\{xy-yx, (xy)y - xy^2,x^3 \}\). It is easy to see that any identity of degree 3 in both algebras is a consequence of \(\Sigma\). An identity of degree 12 satisfied in both algebras was found in [\textit{S. V. Pchelintsev}, Sib. Math. J. 57, No. 4, 666--678 (2016: Zbl 1378.17049); translation from Sib. Mat. Zh. 57, No. 4, 850-865 (2016)]. Now, an identity of degree 6 is found valid in both algebras, but which does not follow from \(\Sigma\). Therefore, the alternative monster and the Skosyrskii algebra satisfy five independent identities.
