    The paper investigates the \(N\)-peakon weak solutions to the generalized modified Camassa-Holm (gmCH) equation, \[ m_t+[(u^2-u_x^2)^p]_x=0, ~~m=u-u_{xx}, ~~x\in\mathbb{R}, ~~t>0 \] using a double mollification method. Here, \(p\) is any positive integer. The above equation reduces to the modified Camassa-Holm equation when \(p=1\). First, the double mollification method and a weak consistency result are given. Then, the existence of global \(N\)-peakon weak solutions is proved. The main results are summarized below: \begin{itemize} \item[1.] The double mollification gives the approximated solutions which guarantee the weak consistency. By a limiting process, global \(N\)-peakon weak solutions for gmCH equation are obtained. \item[2.] The limit of the double mollification also gives the speeds of single peakon weak solutions. Comparing with the usual method for the calculation of traveling speeds of single peakons, the current method is suitable for constructing global \(N\)-peakon weak solutions for any positive integer \(p\). \end{itemize}
