It is well known that the probability of the union of \(n\) events can be computed by the formula of Poincaré (and Sylvester). In this paper the authors generalize this formula to \(\lambda\)-additive measures (Sugeno-\(\lambda\)-measures), using the so-called generator function of these measures. Further, they discuss relations to belief and plausibility measures as well as to rough sets. Using former results due to the first author [``Towards a general class of operators for fuzzy systems'', IEEE Trans. Fuzzy Syst. 16, No. 2, 477--484 (2008; \url{doi:10.1109/TFUZZ.2007.905910})] they present another parametrization of the \(\lambda\)-measures by a parameter \(\nu \in(0,1)\) which divides the measures in a symmetric way into belief (\(\nu<0,5\)) and plausibility (\(\nu>0,5\)).
