The authors describe the structure of the supporting manifolds of Morse-Smale systems. For an \(n\)-dimensional closed smooth connected manifold \(M^n\), the set \(\mathrm{MS}(M^n;a,b,c)\) denotes the collection of all Morse-Smale diffeomorphisms \(f\colon M^n\to M^n\) such that the nonwandering set consists of \(a\) sinks, \(b\) sources and \(c\) saddles (here, since the topological structure of the supporting manifold does not change when replacing \(f\) with any of its iterates, one can assume that the nonwandering set of \(f\) consists only of fixed points), and with the restriction of \(f\) to any invariant manifold of every saddle preserves orientation. In this case, \textit{S. Smale} proved in [Bull. Am. Math. Soc. 66, 43--49 (1960; Zbl 0100.29701)] that \(a\geq 1\), \(b\geq 1\), and if \(c=0\) then \(M^n = \mathbb{S}^n\), the \(n\)-dimensional sphere. Here, the authors consider \(n\geq 4\), \(c=1,2\) or \(c\geq 3\) with saddles of codimension one (continuing the work presented by them in [Topology Appl. 160, No. 3, 498--507 (2013; Zbl 1277.37056)], where they considered the set \(\mathrm{MS}(M^n;1,1,1)\)). Finally, they present examples to show that the considered sets are not empty.
