The concept of epsilon Nielsen number \(N_{\epsilon}(f)\), that is a lower bound for the number of fixed points of all self-maps of a space \(X\) that are \(\epsilon\)-homotopic to \(f\), for \(\epsilon > 0\) sufficiently small, was introduced by \textit{R. F. Brown} in [Fixed Point Theory Appl. 2006 1--10 (2006; Zbl 1093.55003)]. This concept was extended by \textit{Y. Paek} et al. to coincidence theory in [Topology Appl. 258, 439--450 (2019; Zbl 1417.55003)] and is denoted by \(N^{\epsilon}(f,g)\). The main result of the work under review is a type of Wecken result stated as follows: Theorem 3.4 (Minimum theorem). Let \(f,g : X \to Y\) be a pair of maps of compact, connected, oriented Riemannian manifolds of the same dimension \(n\), with or without boundary and let \(\epsilon > 0\) be small enough so that any two points of \(Y\) within \(\epsilon\) of each other are connected by a unique geodesic. Then, there exists \(f' : X \to Y\) with \(d(f',f) < \epsilon\) such that \(f'\) and \(g\) have exactly \(N^{\epsilon}(f,g)\) coincidence points. The authors use in the proof that the space \(X\) is triangular and classical arguments of coincidence theory in the context of triangulable spaces.
