    In earlier works [J. Differ. Equations 262, No. 8, 4292--4313 (2017; Zbl 1381.37024); J. Differ. Equations 267, No. 1, 228--266 (2019; Zbl 1412.37023)] the authors studied the relationship between various orbit gluing properties and partial hyperbolicity. Here this is continued, with the main result being that a partially hyperbolic diffeomorphism having two saddles of different index, and with a condition on the stable manifold of one of the saddles, does not have the orbit gluing property. This shows, for example, that the examples constructed by \textit{R. Mañé} [Topology 17, 383--396 (1978; Zbl 0405.58035)] of \(C^1\)-robustly transitive diffeomorphisms do not have the orbit gluing property. Here families of partially hyperbolic skew-products that do have the orbit gluing property are constructed, and some estimates for their quantitative recurrence are found.
