The motivation for this manuscript came form a technical error in the proof of the following theorem: \textbf{Theorem} A compact space is quasi \(\kappa\)-metrizable if and only if it is skeletally generated. he main objective was then to investigate the class of quasi \(\kappa\)-metrizable spaces, and to provide a correct characterization of skeletally generated spaces. The paper was divided is four (4) major sections. The paper begins with an overview of the concept of quasi \(\kappa\)-metrizability. Section 2 contains the proof that any product of quasi \(\kappa\)-metrizable spaces is also quasi \(\kappa\)-metrizable. In Section 3, Valov provided some additional properties of quasi \(\kappa\)-metrizable spaces and one of interest is that \textit{The Čech-Stone compactification of any pseudocompact quasi \(\kappa\)-metrizable space is quasi \(\kappa\)-metrizable}. A property that would be of interest to any topologist is that of the preservation of \(\kappa\)-metrizability under the so-called \textit{irreducible surjection} . The statement of the results can be read in \textbf{Proposition 3.6} as: \textbf{Proposition}. Let \(f : X \to Y\) be a perfect irreducible surjection, and \(Y\) is (regularly) quasi \(\kappa\)-metrizable. Then \(X\) is also (regularly) quasi \(\kappa\)-metrizable. In Section 4, Valov introduced a wider class of spaces, namely the weakly \(\kappa\)-metrizable spaces, and proved that a compact space is skeletally generated if and only if it is weakly \(\kappa\)-metrizable, giving a charaterization of the the weakly \(\kappa\)-metrizable spaces in terms of skeletally generation (Theorem 4.1). The paper ended with two open questions: \textbf{Question}. Is any product of weakly \(\kappa\)-metrizable spaces weakly \(\kappa\)-metrizable? \textbf{Question}. Is any weakly \(\kappa\)-metrizable space with a countable cellularity skeletally generated? Overall, this paper is a valuable contribution to the theory of topological spaces and their properties. Valov's investigation of quasi \(\kappa\)-metrizability and its relationship to other properties of topological spaces is thorough and well-presented. I highly recommend this paper to researchers and graduate students interested in the theory and applications of topological spaces.
