The authors propose a mathematical analysis of chromatic aberration in metalenses. This includes the study of the existence of metalenses refracting collimated monochromatic radiation into an arbitrary field of directions, and the analysis of the behavior of these metalenses when the incoming radiation is polychromatic. A quantitative measure of dispersion in metalenses is obtained, and it is concluded that in the visible spectrum it has the same order of magnitude as for standard lenses.
