The author considers \(S^2\times S^2\) equipped with any Riemannian metric of scalar curvature at least \(4\). He proves that, if one can find two embedded surfaces homologuous to \(S^2\times *\), which are everywhere sufficiently far apart, then there is an embedded sphere homologuous to \(S^2\times *\) whose area is at most at a certain upper bound. The proof involves recent work of \textit{J. Zhu} [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 148, No. 8, 3479--3489 (2020; Zbl 07211075)] and \textit{M. Gromov} [Geom. Funct. Anal. 28, No. 3, 645--726 (2018; Zbl 1396.53068); ``Four lectures on scalar curvature'', Preprint, \url{arXiv:1908.10612}].
