This work addresses the problem of parameter estimation and mathematical modelling the glioblastoma tumour growth. The authors start from the classic model of the spread, i.e. the Fisher-Kolmogorov non-linear reaction-diffusion equation in the co-moving frame and introduce a penalty term. which reduces the equation to a stationary one with the solution resembling the actual shape of the front. Further, this approach is generalized to the case of the anisotropic advection-diffusion-reaction equation. The analytical approach is supported by the numerical simulations reconstructing the fronts and gradient distributions in 1D and 2D cases. Finally, the examples of stationarisation and determining the respective growth parameters for 3D realistic datasets are provided.
