The Chan-Robbins-Yuen polytope \((CRY_n)\) was named after the authors that defined it in [\textit{C. S. Chan} et al., Exp. Math. 9, No. 1, 91--99 (2000; Zbl 0960.05004)] as the convex hull of the set of \(n\times n\) permutation matrices \(\pi\) with \(\pi_{ij} = 0\) if \(j \geq i+2\). Chan, Robbins and Yuen introduced two conjectures referring to the normalized volume of a \(CRY_n\), expressing it in terms of the product of the first \(n-1\) Catalan numbers and the minimum volume of a simplex from a special class. Both conjectures are proved in the present paper using the connection between the \(CRY_n\) as flow polytopes, signed graph and their Kostant partition function.
