    The author studies the quadratic functions \(f\) which satisfy \[f(x)=\delta x^{4}f \left(\frac{1}{x}\right),\; x\in \mathbb{R}^* \] and determine all the quadratic solutions of the above equation, where \(\delta =1\) or \(\delta =-1\) and \(\mathbb{R}^{*}=\mathbb{R}\setminus \{0\} .\) Specifically, the author derives and proves that if \(f:\mathbb{R\rightarrow R}\) is a quadratic function, then the following statements are equivalent: (1) \(f\) \ satisfies \[f(x)=-x^{4}f\left(\frac{1}{x}\right), x\in \mathbb{R}^*.\] (2) \(f\) satisfies \[f(x)=f(x^{4})-10x^{4}f(x^{2})+16x^{6}f(x)=0, x\in \mathbb{R}.\] (3) There exists \(\varphi \in \mathcal{D}_{3}(\mathbb{R})\) such that the equality \[f(x)=4x\varphi (x)-\varphi (x^{2}), x\in \mathbb{R}\] holds, where \(\mathcal{D}_{n}(\mathbb{R})\) is the set of all derivations of order \(n\).
