Let \(G\) be a finite group and denote by \(H\underline{A}_{G}\) the \(G\)-equivariant homology theory with constant coefficients the abelian group \(A\). This paper constructs a spectral sequence that computes these homology groups, both reduced and unreduced, on a \(G\)-space \(X\). This spectral sequence is based on certain fixed points of the action on \(X\) and the filtration by heights of subgroups. The author proves that this spectral sequence collapses at the \(E^{1}\)-term for \(p\)-groups. Given a spectrum \(E\), denote by \(\Phi E\) the geometric fixed point spectrum. A key result is the following \textbf{Proposition. } Let \(H\underline{A}_{G}\) denote the spectrum of \(G\)-equivariant homology with constant coefficients \(A\) and let \(\Phi^{G}H\underline{A}_{G}\) be its geometric fixed point spectrum. Then \(\Phi^{G}H\underline{A}_{G}=0\) if \(G\) is a \(p\)-group and otherwise \[ \Phi^{G}H\underline{A}_{G}=\Phi^{G/G'_{p}}H\underline{A}_{G/G'_{p}}, \] where \(G'_{p}\) is the Frattini subgroup of \(G\). This reduces calculations of \(G\)-equivariant homology to the elementary abelian case. As applications, the author computes \(\Phi^{(\mathbb{Z}/p)^{n}}H(\underline{\mathbb{Z}})\) and the case of the split extraspecial 2-group.
