MOD-2 (co)homology of an abelian group (Q2227173)

For a prime \(p\neq 2\), there is a description of the homology algebra of an abelian group \(A\) with coefficient in \(\mathbb{F}_p\) which only depends on \(A/p\) and \({}_pA\). And if moreover \(A\) is finitely generated, there is also such a description of the cohomology algebra of \(A\) with coefficient in \(\mathbb{F}_p\) which only depends on \(A/p\) and \({}_pA\). It is known that there are no such descriptions for \(p=2\) depending on \(A/2\) and \({}_2A\) only. In that case, descriptions of the homology algebra and, in the finitely generated case, of the cohomology algebra of \(A\) with coefficient in \(\mathbb{F}_2\) depending on \(A/2\), \({}_2A\) and a linear map \(\widetilde{\beta}:{}_2A\to A/2\) are presented. The authors prove also both in the case the homology algebra and, in the finitely generated case, in the case of the cohomology algebra of \(A\) with coefficient in \(\mathbb{F}_2\) the existence of filtrations by subfunctors whose quotients depend only on \(A/2\) and \({}_2A\).
