The authors propose a mathematical model with networks of communities to model the COVID-19 epidemics. Such model contains six variables: susceptible individuals, asymptomatic individuals, symptomatic individuals, disease-induced individuals, deceased individuals but not yet buried, and virus concentration. The feasible region for the system is derived and it is shown that the system admits two equilibria. Furthermore, the basic reproduction number \(R_0\) is obtained by using the theory of next generation matrix and it is the threshold for the stability of the system. If \(R_0\leq1\), the disease-free equilibrium is proved to be globally asymptotically stable. If \(R_0>1\), the endemic equilibrium is globally asymptotically stable. The result is obtained by graph-theoretic methods and Lyapunov functions.
