The authors consider transcendental self-maps of the punctured plane \(\mathbb{C}^*\). The Fatou, Julia and escaping sets for these functions are defined and denoted by \(F(f)\), \(J(f)\) and \(I(f)\) respectively. The main results are the following: (a) \(I(f) \cup \{0, \infty\}\) is either connected or has exactly two components, one containing 0 and the other \(\infty\). (b) There exists a transcendental self-map of \(\mathbb{C}^*\) that has a doubly connected Baber domain. (c) Let \(f\) be a transcendetal self-map of \(\mathbb{C}^*\), and suppose that \(f\) has a doubly connected Baker domain \(U\). Then the closure of \(U\) in the \(\hat{\mathbb{C}}\) contains both 0 and \(\infty\) and, in particular, \(I(f) \cup \{0, \infty\}\) is connected. The authors provide examples for their results.
