Given a convex body \(K\) and a lattice \(\Lambda\) in \(\mathbb{R}^n\), the authors introduce the \(i\)-th packing minimum as \(\rho_i(K,\Lambda)=\inf\{\rho > 0: (\rho(K-K)+L) \cap \Lambda \ne L \cap \Lambda \text{ for every } (n-i)\text{-dimensional linear subspace } L \text{ of } \mathbb{R}^n\}\), \(i=1,\ldots,n\), motivated by respective covering minima introduced by \textit{R. Kannan} and \textit{L. Lovász} [Ann. Math. (2) 128, No. 3, 577--602 (1988; Zbl 0659.52004)]. The sequence \((\rho_i(K,\Lambda))_{i=1,\ldots,n}\) is not necessarily monotonically decreasing nor increasing in \(i\). Several inequalities are shown that relate packing minima with the volume of \(K\), with the cardinality of \(K \cap\Lambda\) or with Minkowski's successive minima of \(K-K\) or of its polar body.
