In this paper, the authors define a bivariate generalization of the classical \(q\)-Euler and \(q\)-Genocchi polynomials. These generalized polynomials are defined by their \(q\)-exponential generating function, as follows \begin{align*} & \sum_{n=0}^\infty E_{n,q}^{(c)}(x,y)\,\frac{t^n}{[n]_q!} = \frac{2\mathrm{e}_q^{xt}}{\mathrm{e}_q^t+1}\, \cos_qyt \\ & \sum_{n=0}^\infty E_{n,q}^{(s)}(x,y)\,\frac{t^n}{[n]_q!} = \frac{2\mathrm{e}_q^{xt}}{\mathrm{e}_q^t+1}\, \sin_qyt \end{align*} and \begin{align*} & \sum_{n=0}^\infty G_{n,q}^{(c)}(x,y)\,\frac{t^n}{[n]_q!} = \frac{2t\mathrm{e}_q^{xt}}{\mathrm{e}_q^t+1}\, \cos_qyt \\ & \sum_{n=0}^\infty G_{n,q}^{(s)}(x,y)\,\frac{t^n}{[n]_q!} = \frac{2t\mathrm{e}_q^{xt}}{\mathrm{e}_q^t+1}\, \sin_qyt \end{align*} where \(\mathrm{e}_q^t \), \(\cos_q t\) and \(\sin_q t\) are the usual \(q\)-analog of the exponential, the cosine and the sine, respectively. In the first part of the paper, the authors recall some basic definitions of \(q\)-calculus and then, in the second part, they introduce their generalized polynomials and they obtain some first basic properties.
