    The main result of the article under review shows that the moment vector is essentially the only continuous \(\mathrm{SL}(n)\) covariant vector-valued valuation on \(L^p(\mathbb{R}^n,|x|dx)\). In more detail, the main result reads as follows: Let \(n \geq 2\). A function \(\Phi : L^p (\mathbb{R}^n, |x|dx)\to\mathbb{R}^n\) is a continuous \(\mathrm{SL}(n)\) covariant valuation if and only if there exists a continuous function \(H:\mathbb{R}\to\mathbb{R}\) satisfying the property \(|H(\alpha)|\leq \gamma |\alpha|^p\) for all \(\alpha\in\mathbb{R}\) and some constant \(\gamma\geq 0\) such that \(\Phi(f) = m(H\circ f)\) for every \(f \in L^p (\mathbb{R}^n, |x|dx)\). Here \(m(g)\) stands for the moment vector of \(g\in L^1 (\mathbb{R}^n, |x|dx)\) and is defined by \(m(g) = \int_{\mathbb{R}^n}g(x)xdx\), and a function \(\Phi: L^p(\mathbb{R}^ n, |x|dx)\to \mathbb{R}^n\) is called \begin{itemize} \item a valuation if \(\Phi(f\vee g) + \Phi(f\wedge g) = \Phi(f) + \Phi(g)\) for all \(f,g\in L^p(\mathbb{R}^n,|x|dx)\), where \(f\vee g = \max\{ f,g\}\), \(f\wedge g = \min\{ f,g\}\); \item continuous if \(\Phi(f_i)\to \Phi(f)\) in \(\mathbb{R}^n\), as \(f_i\to f\) in \(L^p(\mathbb{R}^n, |x|dx)\); \item \(\mathrm{SL}(n)\) covariant if \(\Phi(f\circ \phi^{-1}) = \phi\Phi(f)\) for every \(f\in L^p(\mathbb{R}^n, |x|dx)\) and every \(\phi\in \mathrm{SL}(n)\), where \(\phi^{-1}\) denotes the inverse of \(\phi\). \end{itemize}
