Let \((\bar N, \bar h)\) be a time- and space-oriented Lorentzian spin manifold, and let us fix a Hermitian product on \(\bar N\) with split signature. Let \(\bar \varphi\) be a non-vanishing parallel spinor with a light-like Dirac current \(V_{\bar \varphi} \in \Gamma (T\bar N)\). Let \(N\) be a spacelike hypersurface in \(\bar N\) with induced metric \(h\). The spin structure on \(\bar N\) induces a spin structure on \(N\). Let \(\Sigma N\) denote the associated spinor bundle. The spinor \(\bar \varphi\) induces a spinor \(\varphi\in \Gamma (\Sigma N)\), which satisfies several constraints. On the other hand, starting from a Riemannian spin manifold \((N, h)\) with some additional data satisfying the same constraints, one can recover a Lorentzian manifold \((\bar N, \bar h)\). These constraints were previously studied by \textit{H. Baum} et al. [Differ. Geom. Appl. 45, 43--66 (2016; Zbl 1339.53067)] and \textit{T. Leistner} and \textit{A. Lischewski} [J. Geom. Anal. 29, No. 1, 33--82 (2019; Zbl 1415.53041)]. The main aim of the paper under review is to provide a new method of obtaining solutions to the above constraint equations. In particular, the authors show how a smooth curve in the moduli space of closed Riemannian manifolds with a parallel spinor together with a scaling function gives rise to a solution of the constraint equations.
