The author offers a new proof of a result on local uniformity of multiplicative arithmetic functions on average, due to [\textit{K. Matomäki} et al., Invent. Math. 220, No. 1, 1--58 (2020; Zbl 1459.11186)]. The method is a clever combination of associating frequencies to larger scales and using among others Elliott's inequality, Vinogradov's lemma and some estimates on product of primes.
