BD algebras and group cohomology (Q2234108)

The purpose of this paper is to introduce Berlinson-Drinfeld algebras (BD algebras) from mathematical physics into algebra. First, the author studies BD algebras. These algebras are defined similarly to Batalin-Vilkovisky algebras (BV algebras). The equation defining the BD operator has the same structure as the equations for BV algebras. The main result of this work is to prove that if a finite group G is abelian, then there exists a BD algebra, naturally associated to G. More generally, this paper provides methods of constructing natural BD algebras.
