The author studies the uniqueness of solutions to the linear integro-differential equation \[ L\varphi -c(x) \varphi = 0 \;\; \mbox{in}\;\; \mathbb{R}, \] where \(L\) is assumed to be a nonlocal elliptic translation invariante integro-differential operator of order between one (included) and two, with a kernel satisfying positivity and symmetry conditions. The main results are obtained assuming potential functions \(c\) to be negative at infinity (or alternative forms of this), and in the presence of a positive solution or of an odd solution vanishing only at zero.
