The classical Donaldson-Uhlenbeck-Yau theorem, also called Hitchin-Kobayashi correspondence, establishes the relationship between the stability of a holomorphic bundle and the existence of Hermitian-Yang-Mills metric (see [\textit{S. K. Donaldson}, Proc. Lond. Math. Soc. (3) 50, 1--26 (1985; Zbl 0529.53018); Duke Math. J. 54, 231--247 (1987; Zbl 0627.53052)] and [\textit{K. Uhlenbeck} and \textit{S. T. Yau}, Commun. Pure Appl. Math. 39, S257--S293 (1986; Zbl 0615.58045)]. Afterwards, many interesting generalized Hitchin-Kobayashi correspondences are obtained. The paper under review deals with the study of holomorphic pairs over a class of noncompact Gauduchon manifolds. The authors prove that the stability implies the existence of Hermitian-Yang-Mills metric, and the semi-stability implies the existence of approximate Hermitian-Yang-Mills structure. They generalize the results of \textit{S. B. Bradlow} [J. Differ. Geom. 33, No. 1, 169--213 (1991; Zbl 0697.32014)] and \textit{R. Wang} and \textit{C. Zhang} [Commun. Math. Stat. 7, No. 2, 191--206 (2019; Zbl 1420.53030)] to the non-compact and non-Kähler case. The new results are proven by applying the Uhlenbeck-Yau's continuity method adapted with new techniques. \par On a compact manifold one proves that the set of solutions of perturbed Hermitian-Yang-Mills equation is open by using the fact that the elliptic operator on a compact manifold is Fredholm. However, if the manifold is not compact, the elliptic operator may not be Fredholm. To deal with this difficulty, the present authors use the heat flow method to solve the perturbed equation. First, the Dirichlet problem of the perturbed equation on a compact Gauduchon manifold is solved. Then using the exhaustion method they get the solvability of the perturbed Hermitian-Yang-Mills equation on a non-compact Gauduchon manifold.
