The paper is devoted to special classes of integrable hierarchies, called ``principal hierarchies'', that can be associated with Frobenius manifolds. For some special classes of Frobenius manifolds it has been proved in [\textit{B. Dubrovin} et al., Commun. Math. Phys. 361, No. 2, 467--524 (2018; Zbl 1403.37072)] that deformations of the corresponding principal hierarchies have tau functions. In the present paper the authors investigate under what conditions such deformations additionally admit Virasoro symmetries and how those symmetries act on the existing tau functions. The approach applied in the paper is based on the construction of a tau cover of a super-extension of the principal hierarchy of a given Frobenius manifold. Thus, the relationship between the bi-Hamiltonian structures of the principal hierarchy and the Virasoro symmetries of its deformations is studied through the deformations of the super tau cover of the hierarchy. As a simple illustration of this technique, the authors construct the super tau cover for the Riemann hierarchy (dispersionless Korteweg-de Vries hierarchy) by finding a super extension of the Lax representation for the KdV hierarchy. The paper would be mainly of interest for experts in the area of completely integrable partial differential equations, especially those who are familiar with differential geometric methods.
