Although the original ways of counting have undergone structural changes or have been abandoned altogether after centuries of contact with foreign powers, one can provide a somewhat patchy reconstruction of the rather diverse ways of counting in Micronesian languages and, in the process, detect ``some overarching patterns''. The main system is decimal, with names for high-power numerals (up to \(10^{10}\)). An in-depth and very informative look at this very rich landscape.
