    In this paper, the authors consider a singular quasilinear critical elliptic equation of Lichnerowicz-type involving the \(p\)-Laplacian operator. More precisely, let \((M,g)\) be a smooth compact Riemannian manifold of dimension \(n\geq 3\) without boundary. The authors treat the following \(p\)-Laplacian Lichnerowicz-type equation in~\(M\): \[ \Delta_{p,g} u + hu^{p-1} = f(x)u^{p^*-1} + a(x)u^{-p^*-1}, \textrm{ for } u>0 \] where \(1 < p < n\), \(f(x)\) and \(a(x)\) are smooth functions on \(M\), and \(h\) is a negative constant, with \(p^*\) being the critical Sobolev exponent and \(\Delta_{p,g} := -\textrm{div} (|\nabla u|p-2\nabla u)\) is the \(p\)-Laplace-Beltrami operator associated with the metric \(g\) on \(M\). The major difficulties come from the \textit{critical Sobolev embedding exponent}, a \textit{sign-changing potential} \(f(x)\), and a \textit{negative power} nonlinearity. The authors obtain non-existence, existence, and multiplicity results under some given assumptions using a subcritical approach from the variational method by generalizing the analysis techniques developed in [\textit{Q. A. Ngô} and \textit{X. W. Xu}, Adv Math 230, 2378--2415 (2012; Zbl 1256.58009)] for \(p = 2\).
