The paper deals with the structure of \(\omega\)-limit (resp., \(\alpha\)-limit) sets for a monotone map \(f\) on a regular curve \(X\). The authors show that for any \(x\in X\) (resp., for any negative orbit \((x_{n})\), \(n\geq 0\), of \(x\)), the \(\omega\)-limit set (resp., \(\alpha\)-limit set \(\alpha_{f}((x_{n})n\geq 0))\) is a minimal set. This also holds for the \(\alpha\)-limit set \(\alpha_{f}(x)\) whenever \(x\) is not a periodic point. These results extend those by \textit{I. Naghmouchi} [J. Difference Equ. Appl. 23, No. 9, 1485--1490 (2017; Zbl 1380.37086); Int. J. Bifurcation Chaos Appl. Sci. Eng. 21, No. 11, 3205--3216 (2011; Zbl 1258.37049); Colloq. Math. 162, No. 2, 263--277 (2020; Zbl 1492.37049)] when \(f\) is a homeomorphism on a regular curve and those of \textit{H. Abdelli} [Chaos Solitons Fractals 71, 66--72 (2015; Zbl 1352.37123)] when \(f\) is a monotone map on a local dendrite. Further results related to the basin of attraction of an infinite minimal set are obtained.
