Let \(\pi\) be a a non-monomial unitary cuspidal representation of \(\mathrm{GL}(2, \mathbb{A}_{\mathbb{Q}})\), where ``non-monomial'' means that \(\pi\) is not an automorphic induction of a Hecke character. Denote by \(\lambda_n(\pi)\) the \(n\)-th normalized Fourier coefficients such that \(\lambda_1(\pi)=1\). The main result of the article under review is that for any \(0<\delta<1\), there are constants \(0<\omega_1^{+}(\delta)\) and \(0<\omega_1^{-}(\delta)<1\) defined by explicit elementary formulas so that \[ \frac{X}{(\log X)^{\omega_1^{-}(\delta)}} \ll \sum_{n\leq X} |\lambda_n(\pi)|^{2\delta} \ll\frac{X}{(\log X)^{\omega_1^{+}(\delta)}}. \] Similar upper bounds for \(\mathrm{Sym}^2(\pi)\), \(\mathrm{Sym}^3(\pi)\) and \(\pi_1\times \pi_2\) are also obtained. These results do not rely on Ramanujan-Petersson conjecture, hence they apply to Maass forms as well.
