The author studies the large \(y>0\) behavior of the K-Bessel function \(K_{r+it}(y)\), \(r,t\) real, with fixed \(r\), and large \(t\). Two different situations are considered: (1) \(\vert t\vert\le y\) (\(t=y\sin\theta\), with fixed \(0\le\theta\le\pi/2\)), and (2) \(\vert t\vert> y\) (\(t=y\cosh\nu\), with fixed \(\nu>0\)). The main results of the paper are the following: (i) The first term of the asymptotic expansion of \(K_{r+iy\sin\theta}(y)\) when \(y\to +\infty\), with fixed \(r\) and \(\theta\). It is given in terms of elementary functions and is different for \(0\le\theta<0\) and \(\theta=\pi/2\). (ii) The first term of the asymptotic expansion of \(K_{r+iy\cosh\nu}(y)\) when \(y\to +\infty\), with fixed \(r\) and \(\nu>0\), that is given in terms of elementary functions. (iii) The first term of the uniform asymptotic expansion of \(K_{r+iy\sin\theta}(y)\) when \(y\to +\infty\), with fixed \(r\) and \(\pi/2-\theta_0\le\theta\le\pi/2\), with small \(\theta_0>0\). It is given in terms of the Airy function Ai and its derivative. Also, for \(K_{r+iy\cosh\nu}(y)\), with fixed \(r\) and \(0\le\nu\le\nu_0\), with small \(\nu_0>0\). (iv) Bounds for the Eisenstein series E\(_0^j(z,r+it)\) for large enough \(\vert t\vert\) for each inequivalent cusp \(\kappa_j\) when \(1/2\le r\le 3/2\).
