    Let \(R\) be a prime ring with center \(Z(R)\) and \(P\) a prime ideal of R with \(P\neq R\). An additive map \(d:R \to R\) is said to be a derivation of \(R\) if \(d(xy)=d(x)y+xd(y)\) for all \(x,y \in R\) \(d:R \to R\) is said to be an inner derivation of \(R\) defined by a if \(d(x)=ax - xa\). An additive map \(F:R \to R\) is said to be a generalized derivation if there exists a derivation \(d\) of \(R\) such that, for all \(x,y \in R\), \(F(xy)=F(x)y+xd(y)\), denoted by \((F,d)\). \textit{M. Ashraf} and \textit{Nadeem-ur-Rehman} [East-West J. Math. 3, No. 1, 87--91 (2001; Zbl 1009.16031)] showed that a prime ring \(R\) with a nonzero ideal \(I\) must be commutative if it admits a derivation \(d\) satisfying either of the properties: \(d(xy) \pm xy \in Z(R)\) or \(d(xy) \pm yx \in Z(R)\) or \(d(x)d(y) \pm xy \in Z(R)\) for all \(x, y \in I\). Moreover \textit{M. Ashraf} et al. [Southeast Asian Bull. Math. 31, No. 3, 415--421 (2007; Zbl 1141.16020)] extended this results for generalized derivations \((F, d)\). In the paper under review, motivated by the above results, the authors investigate the investigate commutativity of quotient rings \(R/P\) where \(R\) is any ring and \(P\) is a prime ideal of \(R\) which admits generalized derivation satisfies the following conditions: \begin{itemize} \item[1.] \(\overline{F(xy)} \in Z(R/P)\) for all \(x, y \in R\) \item[2.] \(\overline{F(xy) \pm yx} \in Z(R/P)\) for all \(x, y \in R\) \item[3.] \(\overline{F(x)F(y) \pm yx} \in Z(R/P)\) for all \(x, y \in R\) \item[4.] \(\overline{F(x)F(y)\pm [x, y]} \in Z(R/P)\) for all \(x, y \in R\) \item[5.] \(\overline{F(x)F(y) \pm x\circ y} \in Z(R/P)\) for all \(x, y \in R\) \end{itemize} These results are proved via direct calculations, much the same as in other papers with similar results.
