The paper contains the following results about the unit balls \(B_{c_0}\) and \(B_c\) of the real Banach spaces \(c_0\) and \(c\), respectively: \begin{itemize} \item Every non-expansive bijection \(F: B_{c_0} \to B_{c_0}\) is an isometry provided \(F^{-1}\) is continuous. \item Every non-expansive bijection \(F: B_{c} \to B_{c}\) is an isometry. \end{itemize} The latter property means, by definition, that \(B_{c}\) is a plastic metric space. Both results are related to the open problem whether for every Banach space \(X\) its unit ball \(B_X\) is plastic. Previously known results in this direction, starting from [\textit{B.~Cascales} et al., Rev. R. Acad. Cienc. Exactas Fís. Nat., Ser.~A Mat., RACSAM 110, No.~2, 723--727 (2016; Zbl 1362.46011)], were based on the study of extreme points of the unit ball. Since \(B_{c_0}\) does not have extreme points, the author uses a completely different approach, which makes the paper especially interesting.
