In this revision of part of his thesis [Homogeneous Keller maps, Radboud Univ. Nijmegen (2009)], the author considers the Jacobian Conjecture over fields \(K\) of characteristic zero, which predicts that a polynomial map \(F:K^n \to K^n\) is invertible if \(\det DF=1\), where \(DF=(\partial F_i / \partial x_j)\) is the derivative matrix. The conjecture trivially holds for \(n=1\); for \(n>1\) has been reduced to maps of the form \(F(x)=x+H (x)\), where \(H\) has homogeneous entries of any fixed degree \(d \geq 3\). Based on work of \textit{G. Meng} [Appl. Math. Lett. 19, No. 6, 503--510 (2006; Zbl 1132.14340)], the author and \textit{A. van den Essen} proved previously that if the conjecture holds for all such maps \(F: K^{2n} \to K^{2n}\) with \(DH\) symmetric about the anti-diagonal, then it holds for all such maps \(G:K^n \to K^n\) [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 133, No. 8, 2201--2205 (2005; Zbl 1073.14077)]. The results presented give reductions of the problem based on symmetry conditions of \(DH\), the conjecture holds for \(DH\) symmetric if and only if it holds for \(DH\) symmetric about the anti-diagonal. There are several such reduction results of a similar flavor here involving diagonal symmetry or anti-symmetry, symmetry or anti-symmetry about the anti-diagonal or about the central axes. There are also some situations given in which the Jacobian Conjecture holds with sufficient symmetry of \(DH\), for example when \(DH\) is anti-symmetric about either diagonal, or \(DH\) is symmetric about both diagonals.
