Let \(X\) be an irreducible smooth projective curve of genus \(g \geq 2\) over \({\mathbb C}\). Let \(N\) be a connected component of the moduli space of semistable principal \(\mathrm{PGL}_r ({\mathbb C})\)-bundles over \(X\). This is a normal unirational projective variety. The authors show that the Brauer group of a desingularization of \(N\) is trivial. A considerable variety of tools are employed; including the representation of the smooth (that is, regularly stable) locus \(N^{\mathrm{rst}} \subset N\) as a quotient of an open subset of the moduli space \(M_X (r, {\mathcal L}_X)\) by the \(r\)-torsion subgroup of \(\mathrm{Pic}^0 (X)\); together with results on Brauer groups from [\textit{I. Biswas} and \textit{A. Hogadi}, Adv. Math. 225, No. 5, 2317--2331 (2010; Zbl 1211.14016)], [\textit{I. Biswas} et al., Cent. Eur. J. Math. 10, No. 4, 1300--1305 (2012; Zbl 1281.14028)] and [\textit{F. A. Bogomolov}, Math. USSR, Sb. 66, No. 1, 285--299 (1990); translation from Mat. Sb. 180, No. 2, 279--293 (1989; Zbl 0759.14008)]; and on bundles of rank two from [\textit{N. Nitsure}, Compos. Math. 69, No. 3, 309--339 (1989; Zbl 0702.14007)].
