Normed spaces equivalent to inner product spaces and stability of functional equations (Q2248833)

The paper is devoted to study properties of generalized parallelogram laws in normed spaces (and, consequently, the stability of functional equations). As a main result, it is obtained that if a normed space \(X\) has a certain approximate parallelogram law, then \(X\) is equivalent to an inner product space. Moreover, an upper bound for the absolute value of the difference between the original norm and the norm coming from an inner product is obtained.
