    The author consider the Schiffer conjecture, which states that the only bounded domain \(\Omega\subset\mathbb R^N\) such that there exists a non-trivial solution \(\varphi\) of the problem \[ \begin{cases} \Delta\varphi+\mu\varphi=0 & \text{in }\Omega\\ \partial_n\varphi=0 & \text{on }\partial\Omega\\ \varphi=c & \text{on }\partial\Omega \end{cases}\tag{1} \] is the ball. When \(\Omega\) is the unit ball \(B_1\) then the solution of (1) for \(\mu=\mu_{0m}^2\) is given by \(\varphi(x)=I_0(\mu_{0m}^2|x|)\), where \(\mu_{0m}\) is the \(m\)-th zero of the first derivative of the \(N\)-dimensional zero-order Bessel function of the first kind \(I_0\). The idea is then to consider a perturbation \(\Omega\) of \(B_1\) and prove that then \(\mu=\mu_{0m}^2+o(1)\) and \(\varphi(x)=I_0(\mu_{om}|x|)+o(1)\). Finally the author proves that there exists a class \(\mathcal D\) of \(C^{0,1}\)-domains, depending on \(\mu_{om}\), such that if \(u\) is a non-trivial solution of \[ \begin{cases} \Delta u+\mu u=0 & \text{in }\Omega\\ u=0 & \text{on }\partial\Omega\\ \int_{\partial\Omega}\partial_n u=0 \end{cases} \] for \(\Omega\in\mathcal D\) and \(\mu=\mu_{0m}^2+o(1)\), then \(\Omega\) is a ball.
