A Lefschetz duality for intersection homology (Q2248891)

An \(n\)-dimensional stratified pseudomanifold-with-boundary is usually a pair \((X,\partial X)\) such that \(X-\partial X\) is an \(n\)-dimensional stratified pseudomanifold (with the induced strata), \(\partial X\) is an \((n-1)\)-dimensional stratified pseudomanifold (with the induced strata), and \(\partial X\) has a stratified collar neighborhood in \(X\). The present paper omits the collar requirement and arrives at a notion of ``stratified \(\partial\)-pseudomanifold''. (Spaces are assumed to be PL.) A version of intersection homology groups adapted to stratified \(\partial\)-pseudomanifolds is defined, and the author establishes Lefschetz duality for these groups.
