    The authors consider the mean value \[ \sum_{a=1}^{p-1}\sum_{b=1}^{p-1}S\left( \left( a^{4}+ma^{2}\right) \overline{ \left( b^{4}+mb^{2}\right) },p\right), \] where \(\overline{n}\) denotes the multiplicative inverse of \(n\) mod \(p\), and \[ S\left( h,q\right) =\sum_{a=1}^{q}\left( \left( \frac{a}{q}\right) \right) \left( \left( \frac{ha}{q}\right) \right) \] the classical Dedekind sums. The provide an asymptotic formula \[ \sum_{a=1}^{p-1}\sum_{b=1}^{p-1}S\left( \left( a^{4}+ma^{2}\right) \overline{ \left( b^{4}+mb^{2}\right) },p\right) =\frac{p^{2}}{6}+O\left( p^{\frac{3}{2} +\varepsilon }\right), \] by employing estimates for character sums and analytic methods.
