The paper is devoted to study flexibility properties of polyhedral surfaces in \(\mathbb{R}^3\). Let \(S\) be a doube-periodic polyhedral surface that is homeomorphic to a plane. It is proved that the family of flexions of \(S\) preserving double-periodicity can not have two degrees of freedom. More precisely, the set \(G(S)\) of all matrices that appears as Gram matrices of period lattices for flexions of \(S\) contains a one-dimensional real affine algebraic variety. A similar result is also proved for polyhedral surfaces that are not necessarily embedded in \(\mathbb{R}^3\).
